How to determine the best work bench height when designing a workbench for the garage or woodshop. the ideal height should be based on both your body height and the type of work you plan to do at. The best height for a workbench that will only be used by you may be higher or lower than that. the nature of your work will also be a factor. i like a 32" height for woodwork but have risers that allow me to raise it to 42" for the detailed work that involved lots of bending over..
